As AMENAPIH took the lead with its beachwear collection during summer 2013, creating an eyewear collection became the next obvious step. It took 2 years for the founders of HIPANEMA and AMENAPIH, Delphine Crech’riou and Jenny Collinet, to plunge in the indispensable world of eyewear. According to Delphine, « It requires time, wonderful encounters, and evidently a smooth creative relationship between an outstanding fabrication and the artistic knowledge of the designer to make a beautiful collection of technical products. »

This is the reason behind the founders’ decision to collaborate with Damien Fourgeaud, a well-known optics and sunglasses Designer. With his experience in acclaimed surf companies (Quiksilver, O’neill, Cébé, Oxbow), Damien suited all the codes of sliding sport. But what really attracted the French creators is his ability to mix bohemian beach style with the elegance of big cities, having worked with companies such as Dior, Christian Lacroix, Carven and Jimmy Fairly. With a similar career of distant cousins the story of AMENAPIH eyewear was launched. It was after a year of planning that the 1st eyewear collection materialises with the success of luxurious, creative and magnificently feminine products, made in France. ” Before starting this ambitious project, we wanted to be certain that our clients would find themselves in the DNA of our brand “. It was essential for us to reach this segment of the market with our force and audacity, along with a chic collection that reflects our image » Jenny explained. The reoccurrence of the word ” audacity ” will be seen throughout this collection, Delphine added. ” We often talk about the Woman 2.0, her beauty lies on what she does for a living, her likes as well as her life decisions, a woman whose worth is beyond physical beauty. For this collection, we wanted something multi-faceted similar to a modern woman. ” For Damien, the challenge was already conquered. ” Delphine had a precise idea of what she wished to achieve for this collection, and together we were in a perfect creative harmony. To respond to the needs of a young brand like Amenapih, with a solid image and very feminine, was an honour. Quite the contrary, it is a collection that has nothing to envy from prestigious luxury brands. On the other hand, the details, colours and fabrics, leave an undeniable mark in the business.
